Coronal Mass Ejection
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Start Time: 2026-05-23T06:48Z ( SOHO: LASCO/C2 )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
SOHO: LASCO/C2
SOHO: LASCO/C3
STEREO A: SECCHI/COR2
GOES: CCOR-1
Activity ID: 2026-05-23T06:48:00-CME-001 (version 1)
Source Location: N18W105
Active Region Number: 14436
Note Keyword:
DFL: Likely deflection of the event within the FOV
FOV: Front Bright front; may be evidence of pileup
Ha: Bright emission (likely H-alpha emission)
OFL: Outflowing material at the back of the CME
Source Signature Keyword:
PEA: Post eruption arcade
OFL: Moving/Opening field lines
BR: Brightening
DIM: Dimming
Morphology Keyword:
L: Loop
Note: CME observed to the NW in SOHO LASCO C2/C3 and GOES CCOR-1, and as a faint N/NW partial halo in STEREO A COR2. The source is very likely former AR 14436, located around N18 and W100-W110. Observed as field line movement and loops breaking over the NW limb in SDO AIA 171/193 starting around 2026-05-23T05:18Z, and directly observed in STEREO A EUVI 195 as slow dimming and brightening starting around 2026-05-23T06:05Z in a wide area around former AR 14436's location. This active region is in close proximity to a large coronal hole to its southwest, possibly affecting CME propagation.

Prime?"primary flag" which is either True or False. If there are multiple CME analysis entries for a single CME, this flag would indicate which analysis is considered most accurate per measurement type. This is a helpful flag if you would like to download only one most accurate CME analysis per CME per Measurement Type

Despite the source being located around W105, this front does not fit well outside of the W70-W80 range, with available imagery and its quality. Attempts to fit around W105 do not match the COR2A structure, but no other corresponding eruptions or fronts to account for this are identified, so it is possible this CME is just greatly deflected away from the source coordinates. 1: Result 1 (2.0 AU)

This does not match the STEREO A COR2 front for full triangulation (see other CME analysis note), but is presented due to the magnitude of the other analysis' deflection.
